Psychotherapy refers to a range of treatments that can help with mental health problems, emotional challenges, and some psychiatric disorders. It aims to enable patients, or clients, to understand their feelings, and what makes them feel positive, anxious, or depressed. This can equip them to cope with difficult situations in a more adaptive way. Psychotherapy can provide help with a range of problems, from depression and low self-esteem to addiction and family disputes. Anyone who is feeling overwhelmed by their problems and unable to cope may be able to benefit from psychotherapy.

Bear Creek Counseling Centers administrative hours are Monday through Friday, 8 A.M.- 5 P.M. Appointment hours are 7 A.M- 6 P.M. (depending on the therapist schedule).  Virtual sessions are available for some sessions.

I bill clients directly. I am a out of network provider with insurance companies. If you would like to try to receive reimbursement from your insurance a bill can be provided that includes the necessary information required by insurance companies. You should contact your insurance company directly find out further details on your coverage and reimbursement.

Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:

  • Do I have mental health benefits?

  • What is my mental health deductible and has it been met?

  • How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?

  • How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?

  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

Please be aware of the risks and benefits going through your health care coverage for therapy services. Therapists who accept your insurance coverage are required to give you a diagnosis code when they bill your insurance company. Depending on your situation, your privacy is less protected when going through your health care coverage. Please ask us about this when you call our office.

With that being said, many choose to pay out of pocket for therapy for several reasons. Some do not wish the insurance companies to dictate their level of care, have access to information regarding their mental health diagnosis or treatment.

For a 50 minute session the cost is $165.

Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled first appointment time to complete the new patient information packet.  You can always print out the packet under "Patient Forms" and bring the paperwork into the office.  You will be greeted pleasantly by our staff and helped with any questions or concerns.

Sessions are scheduled for 50 minutes.  The length of therapy depends on accomplishment of treatment goals of your therapist.  Remember - you are worth it!

This is one reason why people seek out a counselor. There are laws that protect your confidentiality. If you choose to share what we discuss with people in your life that is up to you, but I will keep what we discuss between us.

No. I am not licensed to prescribe medications, however, I will be happy to refer you to a psychiatrist who can evaluate you.

I use Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PET), Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), and Eclectic. For clients who want to include or explore faith concerns or how their faith affects their life I refer to the Bible for spiritual guidance.
